Import templates

You can import templates either from template export files (TEMPLATE/ATC) of a previous ARIS version or from export files of the current version. These export files are created automatically when you export a template.

Warning

If a template with the same GUID already exists, it will be overwritten. To merge templates manually, first duplicate the current template and import the older version.

Prerequisite

You have Administrator privileges.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. In ARIS Advanced Architect, click ARIS > Show Administration Administration.

  2. Click Navigation Navigation in the bar panel if the Navigation bar is not activated yet.

  3. In the navigation, click Configuration Configuration > Conventions Conventions.

  4. Right-click Conventions Templates > Definitions > Import Import template. The Import template dialog opens.

  5. Select the path to the import file whose template definition you want to import.

  6. Click OK.

The template is added and available to all databases. You can assign templates to any ARIS model. If you have imported an older version of a duplicated template you can merge the contents manually.
