Assign a macro to an event

You can assign a macro to an event. If the event occurs, the macro is started.

This example describes how to assign the Output model information macro to the Output model information report. In the example, the macro is assigned to the Model saved event and the context Event-driven process chain is selected so that the macro starts when a model of the Event-driven process chain type is saved.

Prerequisite

You have Administrator privileges.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. In ARIS Advanced Architect, click ARIS > Show Administration Administration.

  2. Click Evaluations Evaluations > Group Macros.

  3. Right-click Group Macros > New > Group Category. The Create Category dialog opens.

  4. Enter Model operations.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Right-click Group Model operations > New > Macro Macro. The Script Wizard opens.

  7. Enter the name Output model information.

  8. Enter the description Generates the "Output model information" report after the model is saved.

  9. Click Next. The Context page of the Script Wizard opens.

  10. Activate the Event option button.

  11. Click Select event. The corresponding dialog opens.

  12. Scroll down to the Model saved event, activate the preceding check box, and click OK. The Select event dialog closes.

  13. Right-click the Model field and click Deselect all.

  14. Navigate to the Event-driven process chain entry and activate the preceding check box.

  15. Click Next. The Contents page of the Script Wizard opens.

  16. Activate the The macro runs this report option button.

  17. Click the Report field and select Output model information.

  18. Click Next twice, and then click Finish.

The macro is assigned to the Model saved event in the Event-driven process chain context. The macro starts when a model of the Event-driven process chain type is saved.
