Find dialog
You can search for groups, models and objects. Optionally, you can restrict the search, for example, by using attribute types.
Select the search criteria.
Path to the group in which you have started the search. You can change the starting point for the search by clicking the Browse (...) button and selecting a different group.
Enables you to change the group in which you want the search to begin.
Searches for groups, models, objects or objects with identical names.
Model or object types to which you want to restrict the search. This box is enabled if you selected the Models or Objects entry in the Find what box. The object type of a symbol is indicated on its Properties page.
Default symbols assigned to object definitions, to which you want to restrict the search. This box is enabled if you selected the Objects entry in the Find what box. This selection does not take into account the symbols used as occurrences of objects in models. Object occurrences are not always displayed with the default symbol of the definition.

Finds all objects that match the entered search criteria, regardless of the defined default symbol.

Finds all objects that are represented with the symbol set by the method and that match the entered search criteria.
Name of the searched item. If you enter a name, only database items with this name are included in the search. If you enter only part of the name, you must add the placeholder * and enable the Use pattern matching check box. If you do not enter a name, the search is not restricted to specific names. All database items are included in the search.
To search for multiple objects, models or groups with names that are partly identical, enable the Use pattern matching check box. You can now use the wildcards * and ?:
The * wildcard stands for any number of characters. For example, if you are searching for all objects that start with the letter E, enter E*. The wildcard ? stands for one single character. For example, if you are searching for all models that start with Plan 2001/ and differ only in the last two characters for the month, enter Plan 2001/??. As a result, the models Plan 2001/01, Plan 2001/02, Plan 2001/03, Plan 2001/10 etc. will be returned.
Restricts the search by means of defined attribute comparisons.
All text attributes
Restricts the search to all elements for which text attributes with the defined string are specified. If you enable the check box, you can enter values that must be specified in a text attribute. If you enable the Use pattern matching check box, you can use the wildcards * and ? for text attributes.
To restrict the search to the Last change or Name attribute types, enable the Last change check box or enter a name in the Name box.
AND rule
Links attribute comparisons of the list with AND. Only elements for which all criteria are met will be found.
OR rule
Links attribute comparisons of the list with OR. Only elements for which the criteria of one of the attribute comparisons are met will be found.
Add
Adds another attribute comparison. Select an attribute and specify the rules for a new attribute comparison. All relevant attribute types that are included in the method filter are displayed. Number and type of the offered attribute types also depend on the entry in the Type box. For example, if you selected (All models), only the intersection of attributes available to all model types is offered.
Remove
Deletes selected attribute comparisons from the list.
Reset
Deletes all attribute comparisons from the list.
Attribute
Attribute type evaluated for the attribute comparison.
Condition
Condition to be met, for example, equal to (=). Number and type of conditions depend on the selected attribute.
Value
Value specified for the selected attribute type and to be included in the search. If you select an attribute type and enter a value, the search is restricted accordingly. Only items are found for which the attribute is set to the relevant value. If you enable the Use pattern matching check box, you can use the wildcards * and ? for text attributes. Value to be met for the condition.
Also searches through the subgroups.
Checks for matching case in text attributes.
Finds strings in text attributes that partly match. The wildcards * and ? can be used.

Enables you to specify a time span in which items have been changed.
Within the last <time span>
Enables you to define the time span as a number of days or months.
Between <date> and <date>
Enables you to define the time span using two dates. Click a date, and select the required day in the calendar.
Starts the search.
Table containing all database items found that match the search criteria. You can open models, for example, by double-clicking them. Other functions are available in the pop-up menu for each entry.
To change the sorting in a column, click one of the column titles, that is, Name, Type, Group (path to database item), or Identifier (unique string in the database). If you want to change the sequence of columns in the table, click the column title, hold down the mouse button, and drag the column to its new position.
