Use locks
You can lock models and objects permanently to prevent editing by other users. You can also unlock locked items.
Locking models and objects is useful during Release Cycle Management (RCM), for example, to perform an assessment of the required items.
In terms of versioning, permanent locking supports key aspects of Release Cycle Management.
You can lock:
objects
models
models and objects contained therein
content of groups, with the possibility of combining the options mentioned above.
To lock something, you need the Lock permanently function privilege.
Locked items can only be unlocked by a system user or by the user who originally locked them.
